As BlueandGold suggested, all text should be stark white. Not enough contrast as is. Otherwise, gorgeous.

Much improved! I would still strongly urge you to avoid adding so many special effects to the type. Aside from making an already decorative typeface more decorative---and consequently more difficult to read at a glance---you wind up with essentially gray on gray (since most of the title falls across the character's jacket). Just take a look at the thumbnail image as it appears on this page: the title merges into the background. And a thumbnail image is how most people will initially see your cover. You very much need to simply your title and increase the contrast between it and the background. By the way, I have a blog devoted to book cover design bookcoverbasics.tumblr.com/ You can use the Archive tab to see the posts in the order they were created. View AttachmentI like this one quite a lot. But, like its predecessor, the type simply merges into the background when seen at thumbnail size. You are going to have to swallow hard and simplify the type. You have at least one too many effects going on. (And PS, there is no real reason to emphasize the O in Oval.) This might be an extreme example, but it shows you how you need to really differentiate your title from the background.

These are all very much better! With the exception of the first one, which needs to separate the title from the background just a little bit more, they all are much easier to read at any size. The compositions look really nice, too. You might want to increase the size of the book number a little on all three as well as the "The" and "of" in the third cover. Other than these little things, a great job!

Okay, these are looking much better! I do like the all-white text ones. I like the color titled ones too. However, "THE WHITE TREE" has TWO highlights. The inner black one is great, but the outer white one makes the letters look out of focus. Make them like "MARK C. BROWN" then click "Print".

Hmm... I like them but the text outline distracts. Make a double layer of white. And a reduced opacity outer shadow layer, like a cloud or smoke around the text, that way it stands out. No outlines Bec your Cover is already too Busy.

I like the one with the blue a lot. Can you add slight colour to the other two items?
