When I publish on Lulu, I often get a warning that I have "...low-resolution images on pages..." and it recommends images of 300 dpi or better.
When I check the images with my computer it says the images ARE 300 dpi. When the finished product is received the images usually look good (sometimes not).
When I add images to a document using MSWord, I typically just position my cursor then INSERT/IMAGE (jpg's or png's) and then resize smaller as necessary on the page. Is this where the resolution becomes something the Lulu converter doesn't like?

I had the same problem BlueAndGold. I missed a couple and didn't make them 300 dpi. When I got the book I couldn't tell the difference between those I had changed and the 2 I had missed. Still I do tend to make them at least 300dpi.

Word reduces your resolution. You can change this in Advanced settings.

Thanks mockingbird. I don't have Word but I'm thinking of getting it. At the moment I'm using Microsoft Publisher and Open Office. my son put Word on to my computer for me, but when I upgraded windows it disappeared.

I use Scribus to create my books, not Word or something like that. So 300dpi remains 300dpi. But in fact, I have sometimes also warnings, when I use old pictures in low resolution.
