I need some advice: I've self-published a couple of books on Lulu and one on Kindle. There are both print options and ebook options for all of them. For my latest (because of the poor print quality of the Amazon Createspace print versions), I've gone back to Lulu. The print version review copy is excellent. However, it doesn't appear that (as was previously the case) there is automatic ebook publication any more. Firstly, is this correct and secondly, if so, can I publish the ebook separately either on Lulu or elsewhere?

Yes, you can publish the ebook at Amazon and the print book at Lulu.

Print [paperback and hardcover] and Epub are all different editions of the same book, in essence requiring three different ISBNs.

Print [paperback and hardcover] and Epub are all different editions of the same book, in essence requiring three different ISBNs. And a PDF ebook, requiring no separate ISBN. Now sold only through personal websites. Lulu used to offer this option.

For my latest (because of the poor print quality of the Amazon Createspace print versions), I've gone back to Lulu. Be aware though that quite often the same printer (by that I mean the same machines at the same location) is used by both. It does depend to some extent on the shipping adddress.

It has been my experience that the printers Lulu uses make a far better POD product than either Amazon or Barnes and Noble.
(Caveat: My experience isn't broad but it's been consistent, for my shipping address anyway.)

Is Createspace what Amazon uses?

Is Createspace what Amazon uses? Yes, Createspace disappeared and all books were moved to KDP which now does print and ebooks. Before they did only ebooks and Createspace produced print books.

(Caveat: My experience isn't broad but it's been consistent, for my shipping address anyway.) Very strange in that all these companies use very much the same automated digital presses and raw materials. Once upon a time I could identify all the printers and their locations, now unfortunately there is insufficient evidence of who, where and with what. For example Amazon uses Kindle Direct Publishing, but there is ready evidence of how KDP plants there are or in which Countries they have them.
