We got an emergency alert this morning to be super cautious with fire, and to stay out of the sun. I went to the beach. And cooked.

Having dealt with temperature extremes [yes it's possible to survive 190 degrees Fahrenheit, 87.778 Celsius for short periods if you know what you're doing], if you don't already, try keeping electrolyte tablets and water handy because wet bulb temperatures can get deadly in a hurry.
We normally have burn bans this time of year, but this year sprummerall has been slightly wetter and cooler than normal, though hiking two to through miles when it's hot with high humidity can leave one quickly sweat-soaked and borderline on heat exhaustion if precautions aren't taken [it can happen as low as 84 Fahrenheit / 28.889 Celsius with high humidity as people in New Orleans can tell you].

That's interesting. I wonder if they have those here. By the way, a whole new learning curve. Driving in the summer vs driving in the winter. Know the rules or die. If the traffic lights are not working, don't stop. Thank you for the tip. I'll go searching today.

Around here when the traffic lights aren't working the rule is treat it like a four-way stop, because people have died from someone not stopping. Where I live Vehicular Manslaughter is a form of Criminally Negligent Homicide which is a felony carrying a penalty of 180 days to up to two years in jail and up to a $10,000 fine, not to mention civil penalties since the decedent's relatives can sue for damages.

Traffic Lights. What are they? The term in South Africa is robot though in Spain it's semáforo.

Traffic Lights. What are they? Really? You don't use that term? Are you being sarcastic?

Yeah... I don't joke. But my son insists I'm funny. It's time I visited Spain anyway.
