Do you have traffic lights? Do they exist in your part of town?

Do you have traffic lights? Do they exist in your part of town? We live 13 odd miles [20+ km] from the closest town, 14 odd miles [22+ km] from the next closest, and yes both of those towns have traffic lights / signals. We're still waiting for the county to put up signs showing the county road number, while we wait for a stop sign where our county road joins the state highway. We're not sure when the potholes in the road will be filled as the county tends to ignore maintenance as long as it wants when wealthy people, ranches, or other business concerns aren't located on a road.

Traffic Lights. What are they? The term in South Africa is robot though in Spain it's semáforo. or Lichtsignal (light signal) in german speaking Switzerland (officially Lichtsignalanlage (light signal mechanism)) or Ampel (pendant lamp) in Germany (officially Lichtzeichenanlage (light sign mechanism) or feu rouge (red fire) in french (officially Feu de circulation (traffic fire))

I was almost jealous as I read. Would love a solitary house surrounded by nature, and no traffic lights.

I was almost jealous as I read. Would love a solitary house surrounded by nature, and no traffic lights. Not quite solitary, though the smallest plots out here are a bit over a hectare or two, though the subdivision behind us to the north start at 10 hectares. Still, we don't have traffic lights. It takes a certain number of traffic accidents and deaths in order to get lights installed because the state / county will cheap out [hence no stop sign].
We do have wild hogs, peccary [javelina or pig-like animals], deer, fox, opossum, coyotes, mountain lion, miner's cat [or ring-tailed cat, a raccoon relative], raccoon, porcupine, bats, and other wildlife sharing the land with us.
If we're lucky we'll have Montezuma Cypress, Monterey Cypress, Dawn Redwood, Coastal Redwood, Sequoia, and Italian Stone Pine as well as Olive survive. Last Winter was rough on non-native trees. Have to restart on citrus.
As a rule we normally see closer neighbor neighbors from a distance when they're driving in or out.
