As you can see two copies of Ancient Beliefs and Customs of the Tagalogs were bought in August 2021 from Lulu by customers in the USA. One brought me 10.18€, the other only 7.13€. I am anxious to know how Lulu will account for this difference.

The date of sale is almost identical. The exchange rate should not play such a big role. The only difference I see is in the second last column "PH" and "US". Maybe it helps if you know what "PH" stands for.

This means that a different exchange rate is applied for payments in USD from the Philippines to EUR than for payments in USD from the USA to EUR?
Or maybe the two buyers didn't choose the same payment channel and Lulu took the charges? For example: credit card, Paypal, ShopPay, GPay.

Maybe it helps if you know what "PH" stands for. You are right, PH stands for "Philippines". The copy bought in the USA should bring the same amount of royalties.

I should get the same amount wherever the buyer is located. Here is the table of my revenue for this book.

Philippines Why are you always the one having these problems? I suppose it's because my books are bought in many different countries.

Lulu has the same efficiency as in the past. I received an e-mail acknowledging my complaint, and informing me I'd receive the answer from a Lulu staff member. Today (2021-08-28), the explanation arrived. My answer: Thanks a lot for your answer, Matt. You are right; the two copies were bought from different countries. In both cases, however, each order was placed with Lulu. Consequently, my royalty in both cases should be the same and about 10€, as indicated by the table of prices and revenues for this title.

Today (2021-08-30) Lulu's Taylor S. e-mailed me a longer explanation, from which I understood the amount paid to the author is the royalties minus the US tax (currently 30% for non-residents)- which I already knew - and eventually the tax levied by the country of the buyer. In the case of the Philippines, I can see that there is no tax. Case closed. Thanks a lot, Lulu.
