Hello all,
When publishing my eBook, I selected global distribution. I was charged $4.99 USD which was paid accordingly. Given the information presented, I understood that my eBook will be available at various retailers, including Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Apple.
I published by eBook on August 26, 2021, but as of today, I am not seeing my eBook anywhere other than Lulu. I logged into Lulu and checked and saw the option to "Continue revisions". Could this have prevented my eBook from being available elsewhere? This was yesterday, so I completed the publishing process. A message indicated that my eBook had been published. Note: I completed the process on Aug. 26th and my eBook was available on the Lulu website (general access).
Should I expect to find my eBook at the named retailers? How long does this take? I can wait until next week after the US Labor Day holiday to check again, but it seemed odd that my eBook doesn't appear anywhere else other than Lulu. Is this typical, or am I missing a step to get the eBook out Lulu's doors?
As always, thank you for your time and feedback. Saga

Saga It used to take roughly six [possibly up to eight] weeks for a title to go live [after publishing] at the various outlets, meaning you've got some time to wait while the various outlets do their own checks on your work.

My most recent couple of experiences (last winter) took about two weeks for print titles to show up on the major retailers. Much better than several years ago.

Speaking of which...How is everyone? Yes took forever to get things done but they are finally done. In my experience ebooks would show up on Apple or Barnes in roughly two weeks. Then Amazon and the rest would take a little longer. So give it six to eight weeks before bugging support. Good luck getting a response in roughly that time period lol.

After I realized Amazon had cheated me on some sales - no royalties - because, according to Lulu, the price of my book was too low (35€), I withdrew all my titles from Global Distribution. It took about two months for the implementation, the same as the one for distributing a new book. The problem now is that Amazon continues to carry obsolete editions.

You must bear in mind that Amazon started out as a used book seller. They will always sell available used books. Furthermore, Amazon now is pretty much a mass-marketing free-for-all where anyone can sell anything there, much like eBay and its ilk.
If a book was ever printed, then copies will always be available for sale on Amazon as long as there is someone who wants to part with them.

Hello all, Thank you for the feedback. I wasn't sure about the time needed for the book t show. I had read the FAQ that's referenced above, but missed the 6 to 8 weeks blurb. Saga
