Good idea! Yes, China has a very efficient censorship, that can be nasty. The simplest solution is to deal with a Chinese company that will deal with all the legal problems. Generally this sort of company is based in HongKong.

The problem with a Westerner entering the mainland Chinese [Peoples' Republic of China] publishing market is Intellectual Property Rights, as in whether you're an author or graphic artist your work can and likely will be infringed upon with impunity. While China [PRC] has gotten a little better about protecting foreigners' IPR, it has a long way to go.
