Thought I would share some home pix...especially ones that feature books! The first is our library/TV room (there is a pull-down movie screen at the far end; the projector is the box on top of the small bookcase in the middle of the picture). The other two are views of my office/studio. Most of the books are reference books: art, science, etc. The decorative motif seems to be largely rockets.

Nice libraries. One day when I get bookcases built and the kinder are old enough to not touch shard pointy things my decorating motif will be fossils, minerals, and archaic type weapons.

That sounds pretty cool! Judith is a huge fan of minerals. She is always on the lookout for rock shops when we travel. She once took a course in geology in college and even today will ride along on a car trip pointing on synclines and slip faults.

Ron, I was researching Orgonite today and the power of rocks and crystals to heal. That is why maybe she's drawn to rocks and minerals; they're beautiful but also therapeutic.

I have an almost 10 lb piece of petrified wood in a box somewhere, handy as a doorstop rather than a paperweight.
P.S.: One day I hope to be able to take the kids out for a field-vacation so they can learn the joy of finding schtuff, where allowed.

I have three sets of main-hand and off-hand to work on for our replacements, and practice blades [wooden] to make or procure.

Bonnestell rockets! Love the radiator under the desk. Good idea! Well, it might be if it worked! But the steam heat in the house had been replaced by a heat pump forced air system long before we bought the place. When we had the old radiators taken out we left two of them just because I liked their looks.

I even bought a stone sharpener in case there's an apocalypse. (I watched all nine seasons of The Walking Dead )

An unsharpened sword can still be quite effective as a defensive / offensive weapon using either the flat of the blade or the dull edge. Given enough force the dull edge can cause compression 'cuts' while the point can cause nasty gashes [difficult to sew up].
At one time heavy two-handed swords with dull blades were termed bone-breakers and they were used to do exactly that.
