Perhaps psaltist, cf. psalter.

Very nice. At first I thought his name was Panos Phaltes but I see that it is Psaltis. I got Psi confused with Phi. So his name would translate "Singer." (very appropriate). You're right! His name is Singer! Of Godly songs, perhaps.

Perhaps psaltist, cf. psalter. Thank you, Jean-Paul. I didn't know that.

I listened to his song. Very nice, but not a clue what he said. It was fun to see the Greek spelling of the lyrics, but my brain was taxed trying to transliterate the alphabet at that speed. It may as well have been Cyrillic. Hey! You should learn Russian now! Seriously, my sister is conversationally fluent in 5 languages. I remember her taking Russian lessons from a 33 RPM record player when I was a little kid. She lived in France for many years and learned German so that she could teach it at the school she worked at when the German teacher left. Language is easy for her. You must have that gene too.

I would love to learn Russian so I can go to Moscow and take the trans-Siberian. And maybe stay a bit in each place. I studied five languages a day for two years in college. It was wild and amazing and thrilling to compartmentalize the brain like that. Thank you for listening to the song and I wanna meet your sister.

I thought I read Pilate for a second there. Psaltis means someone who sings the bible verses in church, when the priest pauses. Can't recall the term in English or know if it even exists. What is the term, if anyone knows...? Literally, probably "Cantor" or "Chanter."

Perhaps psaltist, cf. psalter. That was the reasoning that led me to Singer ... Psalms, for example...

I played scrabble with my students many years ago and they would always beat me. They were amazed and so was I. But I had warned them before we started that I would lose. I mull things slowly, every word like a dripping tap.

Kevin, I thought about your response for over ten hours. And, the result? I cannot control myself. My true answer, after so many hours of thinking, is still: What are you talking about?!
What is Eurovision nonsense? This is a great song. It's not British. It is Greek. A gorgeous, perfect song. Embrace the difference. Or not. But I'm not going to debate the merits of the song. Seesh. Eurovison!? That guy is a hunk and his song is heaven! Ok, back to being a civil adult. Well, your answer baffles me. I assume you never watch the ESC. It's not British, the clue is in the name. Euro(ope)vision, which always has Greek entrees. Nevermind.

The rest of the time I eat, wash dishes, sweep, do laundry, cook, try desperately to finish a complete second book in one year, design clothes, trying to figure out how to make a Greek font floral. I look for people to serve, tend to my church, feed my outdoor cats. That's pretty much it. Occasionally I'll format a book for a client. And I stare at the sky outside my window, and the ocean with the little sailboat that looks just like the one on my computer for so many years. And, I downloaded an app that has the Bible on audio. I think I need to start writing again. I just filled you with a novel.

Gosh, if you walked less perhaps you could fit more things in :-() But I find almost everything inspirational, including umpteen TV channels and many streaming companies. There's a good many documentaries on them. Not sure how far I walked in total during lockdown. Which one was not supposed to do, but I knew of places that would have been pretty much deserted. UK's canal system for example. Very flat and almost like linear parks. So, 8 miles a week maybe. They are busy places now!

Oh, and by the way, I watched one episode of Station Eleven yesterday. I read the book and it got great reviews.

Just over a mile a day really. Add to that just general wandering around and to the shops etc.

Oh, one has to wonder why most stories based in the future nowadays are 'post apocalyptic'. Incidentally, one of my sons insists he never watches TV, and I cannot convince him that he does. What he actually does is watch content made for tv, via his PC streamed to his 59" TV. Go figure.
