Well let's hope this time they can find the door. The postman always knows where my apartment is and always delivers parcels to my door. Only the incompetent UPS employees can't.

Postmen get a lot of practice. Like int old days when milk was delivered on a cart pulled by a horse. The horse often knew the round better than the milkman.

When a nephew of mine was doing his military service, he was a dog master ( maître-chien). When he wasn't quite sure what to do, the dog sensed it and showed him.

I ordered two books yesterday. Lulu didn't e-mail me the bill. This is the second time it happens. Is this a new global trend, or is it limited to the French printer?

Or just Lulu? Just France? Or just your area?
This week two things have been delivered to my address. Granted, not from Lulu or even books.
One was an item from a PC place in the UK called Scan. A monitor. Ordered on line, email billed. Came with in two days, no problem. And by UPS apparently.
Second was from Amazon. Ordered on line. Billed by email, and tracking update mails. Came the following day, no problem. I have no idea who by though!

Kevin, I am talking about Lulu. Sorry, but other suppliers are irrelevant.

But there are not many big international delivery companies for any one to use, and they seem to operate in the UK ok, apart from one who was so bad, they changed their name, which is not one of the ones mentioned. It may be Lulu's fault you are not getting confirmation of order emails, but as you know, Lulu do not print or ship the products. But in the end, they are responsible for ensuring everything works as it should. In the case of Lulu it could be that no matter where a book is ordered from, or printed, Lulu are in the USA and its a lack of adequate communication between countries no doubt.

I'm still relatively overall happy with Lulu and continue to use them for products. Yeah, there have been a few issues of late, rising costs for making the book and for mailing the book out etc. but overall I'm not quite at the point where I'm looking at other options. Mind you, I haven't really published any books so far this year - we've been a bit quiet on the publishing front in 2023 - so maybe you are experiencing 'problems' that I haven't encountered for the very reason I've not published anything this year.
