This seems to be a new business model on the Internet: You look for a few people who are active in similar fields; organize an online conference, which is free (instead of a crossed out moon prize). But since no one can watch as many videos in one day as are activated for 24 hours at a time, you have to buy a DVD or lifetime (my life or the life of the website???) access for a bargain price. e.g. 49$ instead of 99$ or 99$ instead of 999$.
We missed such a congress in January: The Childrens Book Mastery. What I saw in the retrospective trial access was rather moderate. Not the topics (see below), but the presentation. The people I tested may be good writers, but not good speakers. Only the transcript of the presentations would be exciting. Unlike the video, this adapts to my reading speed, I can skim and read diagonally and concentrate on the interesting parts. But the transcript that was given for free in January is not included in the trial access and $97 (plus printing costs) is certainly not worth it.
I copy the lit of all speakers, as most or all of them have an internet site where most of the information can be found. From such a thoroughly informative and helpful site I came to the congress site at all. But just between you and me: In half an hour e.g. Mrs. Inglis can't say as much as she has written in her blog over the years.
