I've been trying to publish a new print book, and when I get to the "ISBN" section, I select "I have my own ISBN" and enter my info. (This is an unused ISBN from a batch of 100 ISBNs from Bowker.) When I click the "Assign ISBN" button, it gives a little circling animation, then stops. There is no indication on any of the fields that any of the info is bad, but at the top of the ISBN section is now an error " ISBN required for Global Distribution".
If I move on to the next section, that section ("Copyright") is still marked with a little pencil with alt text "Section is not completed". Because of this, I cannot complete the publishing process.
I have created another project, with the exact same results.
I have tried the free ISBN option, and it works fine. It gives me a barcode and marks the section with the checkmark icon instead of the little "not completed" pencil icon.
I contacted tech support a week ago, replied twice to the automated message to say my issue was not resolved, but no response.
I have been putting books out through Lulu since 2011, and I've personally uploaded over 250 projects to Lulu, working for various authors. The new interface seems very straight-forward, so I don't think I am just confused about how to fill out the form. It is possible I am missing something, I suppose, but the complete lack of meaningful error message suggests to me that this feature just doesn't work. At the very least, if there is something wrong with my ISBN info (like a mismatch between ISBN and Imprint Name or Contact Info, ISBN is already in the system, etc) I'd expect an error that told me what was wrong.

Is there a blue questionmark at the bottom of the page?
If yes, I would try this instead of a normal ticket. The blue question mark is the fast lane.

Thanks! I did manage to get through to them via chat, but it was no help. It did get me two actual replies to my emails, not just automatic responses, but no solution. No help of any kind, or any suggestion of what might be the problem. However, through trial and error on my own, I have narrowed down that the imprint name is the problem. I assume because that specific imprint name is already in the system. I change the imprint name to something random, and the form works fine. But I use the same imprint name I have used on a dozen other books on this account, and it will not process the form. If I try to use that same imprint name on a different account, the form also will not process. (Again, no meaningful error message. Nothing to suggest that it objects to one of the form entries. It just doesn't do anything.) Because the author is eager to just get on with it, and make the project available, I have used "Alfred Press." instead of "Alfred Press" for the imprint name, and everything works fine. It is a sloppy workaround, but at this point I don't care.
