Has anyone seen their non-Lulu sales for July show up in their Sales and Payments page on the Lulu site?
My June sales for Amazon showed up on the Lulu page about mid-July, so I was hoping the July sales would show up about mid-August, but they did not. All I'm seeing are Lulu sales since June (even though I can see sales on the Amazon author page for July).

Pray tell, what of this "Amazon Author Page"? authorcentral.amazon.com/The Author Page is a good place for customers to learn about you. You can introduce them to yourself and your books. It's a free service provided by Amazon to allow you to reach more readers. You can also get sales information and Customer Reviews of your books. PS It's good to be writing about Amazon without the reprimands we got at the Lulu forums for talking about Amazon and the like.

There's also an interesting beta report tool there that compares sales with actual prices etc. The last time I looked the highest average price on the graph was around $3, assumingly that's for ebooks.

When I mean highest, I mean a graph peak not a price

I have under "unpaid sales" sales from all of July and a couple from August. I was hoping that this was the real time sales reporting like we used to have but I did notice a few Amazon sales. So I'm not sure what to expect. I'm hoping that the main report is still to come in addition to these. I did contact support about it to make sure but of course it will be next month before you hear anything back.

Pray tell, what of this "Amazon Author Page"? It's free if you have books on Amazon. It used to be much better but since KDP took over it doesn't have a lot of use anymore. At one time you could contact Amazon support from there and have them add key words and search tags to your books. These would help people find your books. But now KDP won't do that for you as Lulu is the listed email publisher. But if you have an Author Central page you can go in at anytime and rewrite the blurbs for your books. The changes only take a few minutes to a couple of hours. Also you can a picture of yourself and description in the about the author section. Adding key words here about the book can help in searches too. There is of course mentioned before a sales report. It only shows paperback sales though and only around 75 percent correct from what I've read. I do like the map it shows. The maps shows where in the U.S.A. that your book has sold and how many copies. I can be useful or at least interesting. I don't use it much anymore since KDP will not answer the simplest questions or add keywords as Createspace used to do. But it's worth signing up for. Oh and just to add if you listed the books yourself through KDP then the page is much more useful as they will add the or change info about the books for you.

It seems just a little narcissistic and creepy to me; but then again, I am not of the Smartphone/Facebook/self-prostrating generation. However, it does look as if it might be a useful tool to check Lulu's figures with.
It's something to think about, I suppose. Again. Still. Maybe...

I suppose you're right, Kevin. I've never been much of a marketeer. It takes something extraordinary to pull me out my multi-layered shell and self-promotion is certainly not one of them. I knew at the outset I'd not get rich by selling books, but I have found they tend to sell themselves when people get their hands on them. It's like watching paint dry though.

Surely you want to promote your content? That's an odd comment to see, from someone who wants to sell books.

Perhaps my imagination over-reacts, aacain. When I hear about "author photos and biographies and blogs" and such I have a natural negative knee-jerk reaction. I am a bit of a recluse at heart.
There are those who espouse "selling the author" as a marketing scheme. I can not express how repulsed I am by that idea. There is a tremendous difference between selling one's product and selling one's soul.
But again, I tend to over-react to such things. It's something for me to think about.

I gritted my teeth and knuckled under.
With a burning desire to have a tool to verify sales information reported by Lulu, I signed up with Amazon's Author Central and minimally populated the author page to gain access to the NPD BookScan tool. It isn't exhaustive, by any means, but it certainly provides a bit of a sanity check on some of Lulu's sales reporting.
The data only goes back two years but I did an in-depth comparison to what I have recorded during that period and found no discrepancy that wasn't readily explainable. Fair enough!
An added benefit is the ability to see where sales occur geographically. Perhaps not useful, but definitely interesting.
Truthfully, I feel better. I wish I had done this years ago. Thank you for the shove in the right direction! (Yes, I know I'm an old stick in the mud but I eventually come around.)
