While on the subject of spam and the likes - this email came to me from 'Amazon' (which isn't Amazon) - note the flawless English grammar!!! (I no longer have an Amazon account, and haven't had for almost a decade - not even I can login to an account that no longer exists!)
Quote: "We recently received multiple failed login attempts to your account. As a result, For your safety Amazon Account has been locked. Our service has detected an unauthorized login attempt to your Amazon Account from another location.
Date and Time : October, 7 2020 PDT Browser : Google Chrome Operating System : Microsoft Windows Location : United States IP Address : 78.59.60.51
Someone may have your email and password to access your account then make some change on your account information.
To unlock your Amazon account, go to Sign-in to my Amazon account, and continued with verification your account by providing information that previously required, then go to security center for update your security settings as soon as possible. " Unquote
DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINK PROVIDED TO ENTER ANY LOGIN CREDENTIALS, IF YOU RECEIVE SUCH AN EMAIL.

Yes, bogus emails are commonplace now. I never click on the links provided. I do have an Amazon account and a couple of months ago, received periodic phone calls with a recorded message concerning an Apple I-Phone I'd ordered (which I hadn't). The message invited me to "Press 1" (which I didn't).

Once upon a time, we used to get 'real person nuissance calls' wanting to sell us anything under the sun ... so ... when time was available, I started to tell them all about my life, and how miserable (wink wink) it was and how much I could do with a few dollars, and if they could send me some money I would really be grateful and my grandmother was in the same boat, etcetera etcetera etcetera ... they never got a word in edgeways - other things I would do to them is say 'just a moment', and put the receiver next to the phone (when there was still a 'normal' phone sitting on the sideboard ... back in those days, if the person they called did not hang up, they could not make another call ... ah! those were the days!

Another fun game was to give the phone to your 2-year old.
