I received several of my Lulu books today (2020-11-17). I noticed that whenever I filled the outer margin with the background colour of the whole cover, the result was perfect. Conversely if I left the outer margins as they were, there is always that pesky light blue line at the bottom or the top or both of the printed cover. In brief when your cover is finished, fill all the rest with your background colour. I have done it again. The previous edition had 740 pages. The new one has 784 pages. I used a screen capture of the previous cover and pasted it on the template. I made a new title on the spine. I filled the rest of the cover with my background blue. The result is good.

It took some time, I had to download a version of PhotoShop, had to figure out the size problem with the cover, eventually learned how to make a cover off-line.
I wish Lulu would make available for download the old template backgrounds ---they would be good to start with.

I like the Cover Template Generator from IngramSpark: You may tray it even if you publish not with them.
