Thank you BlueAndGold, I've learned another word here in our forum. I had no idea that the plural of beef was beeves. As my father always said "You live and learn." Now I took that to be an accidental misspelling of 'peeves'.
How easy it can be for people to read different meanings into the same words.

Kind of why I was stressing clarity.
Before my spouse was medically retired part of her work involved linguistic analysis, Spanish / English. Too often people think regional differences in a language and its slang aren't important, when there actually are times those differences can lead to jail time or worse.

BlueAndGold is a poet and I read that many poets use the term beeves. However peeves works too. Did you mean beeves or peeves BlueAndGold PS I figured that beeves had to be a word when the red line under the word didn't come up.

I meant beeves, but peeves works too. Thank you, Bizzley! In American slang, to have a beef with someone or something is to have a disagreement. Proper usage would be to use the singular but poetic license allows the plural (to rhyme with "please").
