A while back I visited Auschwitz/Birkenau. This book recounts that memorable visit. The Nazis murdered at least 1.1. million people here, mostly Jews, but also non-Jewish Poles, gay men, members of the Roma ethnic group, Soviet prisoners and Jehovah's Witnesses. www.lulu.com/shop/elizabeth-keimach/my-visit-to-the-death-camps-auschwitz-and-birkenau/ebook/product-23782684.hThe camp that partiularly didturbed me was Birkenau. I didn't see or hear a single bird in this eerily silent place, I also felt death all around me. I was so sad that I had to sit down and recover from the emotional impact this death camp had on me.
