I was thinking of switching to MyBestSeller for my private, print only, book. However it cost £2.45 in Lulu and £6.06 in MyBestSeller. That's quite a big difference. Also although MBS is based in England I think Lulu has a printer in the UK so postage should be about the same.

So far, despite its recent drawbacks and defects, Lulu Press, Inc. has remained peerless.

So far, despite its recent drawbacks and defects, Lulu Press, Inc. has remained peerless. Well I've sent for a proof copy of my book "Circle of Love." potet . I was having so much trouble making my cover but Ken kindly made it a PDF and sent it to me. Lulu finally accepted the cover. Even the postage was reasonable for England. Thank you Ken and Lulu. Now I eagerly await my book. I wonder how much postage it will cost to send to America.
I took a break from my third series of "Stolen" but I.m going to make the cover first in a dummy book and see if I can manage the PDF cover

I wonder how much postage it will cost to send to America. Actually, it's nonsense to print the book in Europe, send it to the north of England and then ship it to America. Why isn't there a provider like Lulu, Mybestseller, D2D or whoever that also offers a gift service? That would be like this:
- When ordering,
- larika clicks on "Gift",
- chooses a nice photo or uploads her own photo,
- enters a personal text,
- chooses the appropriate font
- The book would then be printed and shipped in the USA, together with the gift card.
For a surcharge of say $1-2, this would be a good thing for everyone involved: customer, service provider, printer, climate - wouldn't it?

Is there some confusion here? Lulu always uses a printer closest to the delivery address. There is no reason why Larika even for a private book shouldn’t buy it for family in the US.
Of course a Gift Certificate would be an asset.
Just a thought, why not knock up a second copy with a Gift foreword and then just buy that.

Larika, I don't understand your address problem. There is none for my books. Lulu has all my books printed by the printer closest to the client. If the client is French, or in Western continental Europe, the printer is in France. If the client is in the UK, the printer is in the UK. If the client is in the USA, the printer is in the USA, etc.

I took a break from my third series of "Stolen" but I.m going to make the cover first in a dummy book and see if I can manage the PDF cover Yes, making the cover oneself with the Lulu template is not easy, and the result is never as good as with the cover wizard. Another problem is that if there is a significant change in the number of pages, you have to redo the cover with the new template because re-dimensioning the previous cover doesn't always give the correct result. The cover wizard did the adjustment by itself without any further ado, and the result was perfect, including the position and the dimensions of the ISBN.
