I wrote this to Lulu

"Hello, Yes the issue of my private book cover is resolved (with the help of another self-publisher) but the bigger issue of your cover options has still to be resolved, Canva is impossible. Unless one has the expensive Photoshop, Word or InDesign, the "all in one" cover is out. Of the remaining four options I would use the "front and back" cover if only you would remove the black bar at the bottom. (My latest cover is beige, it looks awful with the black bar at the bottom)
So many of us who have been with Lulu for years want to stay with you, but your cover design still needs to be nearer the old marvellous "cover wizard." Elizabeth."

Can't you fill the black bar with a colour of your choice?

I'd rather not have it at all. 

Ken what is the purpose of the black bar. Do you think it adds to the design of your book. My last 2 books had  light colours (pinkish and beige.) and the black bar at the bottom looked awful. 

This is one of the poems in my book. My daughter Kerryn wanted a pet. Today she and her partner Brian have 2 lovely dogs.

Kerryn's Frogs

In America we lived in Schaumburg,
In Chicago's urban sprawl.
Our Gary was only 9 years old
And Kerryn was very small.

One day as we gazed at the TV
I glimpsed a sudden move
"Whatever is that," I shouted.
"It's something we'll have to remove."

"It's a frog and he's only a baby
He's jumping all over the place
And there are others with him,"
And so we began the chase.

"They're coming from Kerryn's room," I cried,
While she pretended to sleep.
So we gathered the little amphibians,
That Kerryn was longing to keep.

Then gently Burt carried them outside
To where she had gathered them from.
I wanted a pet my young lass declared
And her a face was so sad and glum.

We're not allowed pets in this flat I explained.
It's forbidden to keep them here now.
The Landlord has said that pets are taboo.
If we had them there'd be such a row.

Today she and Brian have pets of their own,
They bought themselves beautiful dogs
And Fluffy and Snowy are dearly loved
Now Kerryn has no need for frogs.                         

Larika that's funny. My book that you just read was taken down over two months ago. I never was told by Lulu why. They said to revise it. I tried and kept getting a subtitle error. They finally said it was a bug. Support said do a revision with a different ISBN and we'll get it back out. Well that's two months ago. I got an email yesterday telling me the bug was fixed and to revise the book A little late LULU
