I wonder if we are talking about the same thing as IngramSparks only introduced it recently.

Ken, don't be intimidated by a small difference in binding. If you've made any hardcover with a jacket you can make another. Download the template and set about doing it. It's an easy process if you have photo editing software.

I am not intimidated, like you I created and published many, many hard backs.
There is no problem in doing so.
What I really want to know is of any experience with the quality, look and feel of a book with jacketed case laminate as opposed to plain dust cover.

Short version. Make one, order one, no need to go public if you are not pleased with the quality. Good luck.

I had several private books printed hard-covered, clothbound and jacketed by Lulu a while ago. The result was superb. The only problem was that, on the spine, it was impossible to have diacritics in the lettering. I remember "Maître Tace" became "Maitre Tace" without the circumflex accent, which is a mistake in French. On the other hand, the jacket made it possible to display color pictures that were turned B&W inside the book. From the demonstration video, it seems Ingramspark offers one more option: the hard cover being identical to the outer pages of the jacket. Recently I switched back to soft-covered for all my books.

Yes, I agree that seems to be them case. (No pun intended).
I’m just embarking on a new project where I will try that option for myself with IngramSpark.
I’m having a small problem getting started as IngramSpark want an ISBN at the very first step of their publishing project but it’s not possible to set or buy one from them if not in the US. A work around seems to to just start a project with Lulu and use their ISBN. Long term I’m trying to buy one the Spanish Agency.
