I’ve just been robbed of my wallet by a pickpocket in my local supermarket.
This is the second time in two months.
I can cope with losing the cash that was in the wallet, a substantial sum, but what really upsets me is the loss of id’s, driving licence and medical card which take an awfully long time and lots of hassle to replace. Bank cards are easily and quickly blocked but the rest take extreme effort to deal with.
This time was another distraction robbery, one man bumping into my shopping trolley whilst I suppose a second picked my pocket.

Ouch! You'll need to secure your next wallet a little better, Ken. At least carry it in your front pants pocket when entering crowded places. I refuse to buy pants that don't have fasteners on the pockets. Around here, some guys have wallets equipped with chains that attach to their belts. Wear backpacks on your front, not your back.

One card with you when you shop, one that requires a PIN.

I was almost robbed three times in the last year. Not by Greeks. Foreigners. Look at their eyes

That's absolutely terrible. What the devil steals has to be paid back seven fold.

My spouse bought me a wallet that takes some effort to get in or out of my front pocket. I've found dressing like I can't afford better clothing, infrequent applications of deodorant combined with a weekly bath, and the day-to-day issue of dealing with life, usually gives me a scent that has cautious people keeping at least a few feet away.

Cameron: LOL By sheer coincidence I lost my credit-card holder at the supermarket this morning (2021-10-23). I realized it a quarter of an hour later at the Chinese takeaway. I paid cash, returned to the supermarket. They had found it on the floor. I must have dropped it inadvertently while thinking I was slipping it into my inside pocket.

On different occasions I and my spouse [on her own] have found people's wallets and turned them in. It's the right thing to do.

I forgot my purse, with my IDs, credit cards, passport, money, bank cards, at the tiny port in my area. A woman with three kids turned it into the police. She hadn't touched a penny.

Yes, most people are honest and do the right thing.
My frustration is that this is the second incident within a few months. I was just starting to get replacements for all the items stolen the first time. Now I have to start again which will take time and effort.
I’m annoyed with myself as I should have recognized the distraction scam for what it was.
