I want to revise an existing paperback book.
I took the original file, carried out my revisions and then turned it into a PDF. Every time I uploaded this to Lulu, the system told me the fonts were not embedded.
I know this isn't true, as they had all been embedded in the original file. I had not used any new fonts, and I had made sure that there was only one font throughout. I went through the whole process several times, re-embedding the fonts in MS Word then converting to PDF...each time Lulu's system insisted the fonts were not embedded.
Eventually, after much frustration, I converted the MS Word file into an ODT file using Libre Office, and after repeating the procedure to make sure all fonts were embedded, I converted this into a PDF file using Libre Office.
Finally the Lulu system accepted this but then it told me that there was a minute difference between the size of the new text file and that of the cover.
A difference of 0.001 of an inch or centimetre or whatever.
So I can't use the original cover.
They tell me I need to re-size it. How? I have no idea how to do that.
I never chose to change the size of anything. Why has it changed?
What can I do to make the original cover re-useable?
Why has my text file changed size?
Since the book came out, Lulu has of course changed all the procedures for designing a cover so you cannot make the same design again and of course it has all become much more complicated.
