I am working on a book, finally. My own creation, and Greek, and I'm listening to Amazing Grace in the background.
Going to use Lulu.

Can Lulu publish books in non-Latin characters? I think they can if they get a PFD with the fonts embedded. I believe I have only published text as images in the past. The description and title, however, must be in latin characters. Good question.

Maggie, now that I think of it, in the previous version of Lulu, there was an author who had his English book machine translated into several languages including Chinese. I had a look at the Chinese version, and was amazed at the quality of the printing until I realized those "books" were digital books - e-books - ... nothing printed.

I don't think you can do ebooks in other languages. I've tried. You can export entire PDF as jpegs and insert those in Sigil or Word to make an epub. Almost 100% sure the print book interior can be in a different language.

So my memory is failing me, and the Chinese book I came across was not an e-book, but a printed book. So, to come back to the point, the cover was in English, the inside of the book was in Chinese, and the logograms (characters) were sharp and clear.

I have just been to Lulu and entered "Chinese" in their bookstore. They do have a handful of printed Chinese manuals for English speakers. Unfortunately no sample pages are available.

Even the description can be in greek.
Unfortunately, you cannot search the shop by language. To do so, you have to hack the URL as follows: - Search something that gives you also results in the searched language (e.g. "Greek (modern)") / URL by Lulu: www.lulu.com/search?adult_audience_rating=00&language=&page=1&pageSize=50&q=greek+%28modern%29 (588 results) adult_audiance = > no sex
language=ell => greek
page=1 => first page of search results
pageSize=50 => number of search results per page (usually 10, i prefer the maximum)
This way you see all 859 books in modern greek in Lulu's bookshop. As you can see, the book description is possible in greek.
This hack works with all languages. But it is limited at 10 000 books. So it works well for languages with less than 10 000 books at Lulu's.
In fact, it seems, that you may use just the three-letter-ISO-language-code. (This way, I found 213 Swahili books and it looks as Alemanic/Swiss Germann (gsw) is not implemented.
