Does anybody know how or via whom Lulu ships books within the UK? if it's Royal Mail that's fine as it means I can go out once they have been, but I'm wondering if they use a courier service. Thanks!

They give you different shipping options when you order. If you selected regular mail you're set. I have never received a lulu package, either in Canada or in Europe via courier.

Lulu books printed in France are packed in excellent dedicated cardboard boxes called "Colissimo" that are required by La Poste to transport them. Today, taking advantage of the 15% discount, I ordered three of my books. The shipping + wrapping amounts to 6.39€ (my red frame). I expect the parcel to arrive by the end of next week as usual. I never take the other postage options because they are uselessly expensive.

Thanks, it had defaulted to the cheapest option (Mail) but I hadn't assumed that meant Royal Mail. Despatched yesterday so I guess arrival some time next week!

As a bottom note. Lulu do not actually print or mail stuff. Third party printers do the work, and it has to be assumed it's also they who mail the stuff out. General post has a weight limit (fit's through a letterbox! Not sure how that would apply to a letter sized sheet of lead though!) and above that it will be Parcel Post. And the RM here also deal with that, so are also couriers. But, again depending on weight, a sender may use a cheaper option, like DPS (very common) but often, anywhere that mails out a lot of stuff will have a contract with someplace, at a trade discount.

BTW. if if a parcel is missing, look in the hedge, or on the roof. Many local couriers are paid by the delivery, so will not hang around. "But I WAS in!!!"
