This is an old site been doing that for years >>> www.gutenberg.org/The problem was, people were downloading them and publishing them in their 10000s, often all the same story, to Amazon etc, It took Amazon ages to remove them. BTW. Many of the books at BookRunes seem to be 99p  |

BTW. Many of the books at BookRunes seem to be 99p  Yes they aren't all free/ However I downloaded many free ebooks from them. Now however I have to be careful of my use of the computer as I'm having problems with my eyes. I only stay on for a short while and make the screen quite dark. I'm back to reading books with a special magnifier-----oh it's hard getting old  |

Gutenberg is a great U.S. institution. Thanks to them I have been able to download Tagalog books that have long been out of print.
On the other hand, I noticed that some other people use them to publish printed copies, that can be useful, and sell them.
