I have 11 books on Lulu I have one book on Amazon I think I need to start transitioning everything over to Amazon. The price increase of books on Lulu has probably made things even worse - I normally earn over twice this or more per month. I hope this stark contrast also gives other people pause for thought

Could it be that it is Amazon? A vast worldwide market place. And I get the impression you market your books? Could it be that potential buyers trust Amazon to buy from than from an obvious self-publishing site that does not advertise itself as a place to buy books from?

Sorry, I should have made it clear All the other 11 books are also available on Amazon via Lulu's Global Distribution.

It has been clearly demonstrated to me twice that Amazon is not inclined to service issues that Lulu or Lulu users have.
Amazon made mistakes with two of my book cover images on their site but would not respond to my requests to correct them, saying only that the publisher of record had to be the one to lodge the complaint (Lulu, of course). Lulu was quick to address my subsequent requests for action with Amazon but Amazon chose to take MONTHS to address the issues. One of them is still pending, in fact.

Yes, it is true that the customer support on Lulu is probably better. However, Lulu let us all down for the best part of two years with their appalling "upgrade". If Amazon could get their support better, I think many people would make the switch.

I suspect that Amazon supports their authors far better than they support their competitors (Lulu). They have Lulu over a barrel, right where they want them.
I would probably move my projects to Amazon if I had the time and an ounce of inclination.

I would probably move my projects to Amazon if I had the time and an ounce of inclination. It could also be a matter of scale, where Amazon [correctly] has no real reason or incentive to do the work Lulu Press should be on top of, and yes I am aware Amazon sells more than books.
Amazon's 2021 revenue was reportedly US$ 469.8bn [as in billion] whereas Lulu Press' 2021 revenue was estimated at US$ 173.3mn [as in million].
My relatively few dealings with KDP and IngramSpark tech support were taken care of quickly, and without having to reply to an email that auto-closed the ticket if no reply was received.

If Amazon could get their support better, I think many people would make the switch. Amazon always say moan at Lulu if a Lulu created book is not correct on Amazon, and that is fair enough. When I have ever had problems with e-books created at Amazon, Amazon have always been fast to respond and fix it if the problem is their fault. But Lulu always seemed too fast to close tickets as though it had been solved, when it had not. But my experience with Amazon support was a while ago, and I would suspect that particularly through lockdown they have been short staffed like everywhere else, where at times it was impossible to get a response at all from almost anywhere or "you are number 152 in the que", and that problem has not fully gone away due to continuing staffing problems. Covid has not gone.
