Has anyone on the forum had any recent concerns or complaints regarding the quality of the printed quality of your books? For example, a couple of weeks ago, I had to order 4 copies of one of our books for a contributor. The books were printed, shipped and delivered but I got an email from the contributor that the 4 copies of the books he received were recently quite bent out of shape. To quote his email: "The books are all in good condition, with nice sharp corners on them. All four books do have a real curve to their paper though, the same thing that happened to two of the TTL3 books I ordered back in the winter. I don't know why I have this luck with getting multiple copies of books from Lulu: my contributor's copy of both TTL3 and Grave Warnings Omnibus were perfectly flat, but two of the extra TTL3's I ordered, and now these four GW's, have a significant curve to the paper of the entire book. I'll put these Grave Warnings books under a stack of hardcovers for a few weeks, and hopefully that'll flatten them out; that ended up doing the trick for the TTL3 copies that were curved."I've attached copies of the pics he sent me to illustrate the problem. Has anyone else had a problem like this with books they've received? Thanks.

They almost look like they were stored in a box too small for them.

So far, this has never happened to me.

The covers look thinner than normal, and that the laminate on them has shrunk.

I wonder if the paper came off a roll, and the roll was getting near the center spool, hence the tighter curl?
Dunno. Just shooting in the dark...

The bottom line is, arrange to send them back and be replaced.

I just bought a book from Waterstones. Mass-printed I assume. On a shelf tight between other books. The front looks exactly like the above image, slightly curved. So it's not just POD books that do that! It makes no difference to the readability of it though.

Great ideas all. I have no idea why they turned out that way either TBH. My friend mentioned to me what he has done is put the books flat somewhere and placed something heavy on them for a couple of weeks and it sorts out the bend. Like "Still Just Kevin" says I don't think it affects the readability of the book.
