Hello All,
I'm wondering if I can create short informational sheets & guides on LuLu in PDF format. These would be about 4 pages long.
Is there a minimum page requirement for PDF ebooks?
I search the knowledge base using the phrase "pdf book minimum pages" & found nothing specific to this.
Also, I observed these articles: Publishing FAQ, LuLu, EBook Creation Guide, Ebook Creation FAQ, & Mandatory Ebook Distribution Requirements. There's nothing I found in them relating to this question.
Any constructive answers are greatly appreciated.
thanks

Eight hundred is the page limit for print books.

Lulu's FAQ etc., answers are often a bit vague and often just lead to Start Here links on a sort of Suck It And See basis. I don't recall there being any advice as to page count for ebooks of any type there, PDF or ePub. I assume the min page count for a PDF is one! And of course you cannot have an ISBN and Distribution for them via Lulu, but they can have a Lulu Storefront for free. I don't know what you intend, but one page could be a Copyright, then the four further pages.

Hi,
I appreciate these suggestions.
I probably could have worded this post a bit better. My question was about a minimum number of pages for a PDF ebook.
From what I've read here there is no minimum, as long as there is at least a page, it can be published.
I realize that these PDF ebooks would not be eligible for global distro & would only be sold on the LuLu storefront.
"I don't know what you intend, but one page could be a Copyright, then the four further pages."
Excellent point. A whole page can be devoted to copyright & other frontal matter.
Thank you all!

You worded your question OK.
There's all sorts of stuff can be in the front matter. Preface. About the writer. Other stuff by the writer, and so on.
Although it's usual for PDF 'pages' to be A4 so they can be printed out on most peoples' home printer, I don't think there's actually a max or min page size that they have to be.
As to that Copyright, the problem with PDFs is they can be printed out even if the Copyright bans it. People just ignore it. I think there's ways to stop them being printed, or even shared, but I seem to recall that if they are added to the file, Lulu's Wizards cannot process the file.

You are correct that some time ago password protected PDFs could not be uploaded for eBook sales. That has changed. You can upload a file with printing, editing, etc protected via password. That is a secondary setting in the Properties of a PDF document. I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with Lulu but I do applaud them for making that change.

That's unusual. Perhaps for PDFs, but for ePubs with ISBNs it was other vendors Lulu sent to, like Apple, who would not allow file protection.
