Is there any lulu corona news? I had no news by email. I want to upload and order a book; just wondering if all is as usual. Other PODS are not shipping everywhere anymore.

ok, so that's interesting. I went to the lulu website, on it right now uploading the book, no mention of Corona. And I checked my email this morning. Nothing. I may have gotten an email since.
I'm surprised they're still shipping to Italy and Spain.
Thank you for posting, Blue.

Don't forget that Lulu do not actually print and fulfil the orders, it's all automatic. If there's going to be a problem it will be at the printers and who they contract to deliver the items. But our postal service at least seems to be working.

Hey Maggie and everyone else,
You'll see a notice in the cart when buying a book about potential shipping delays. I've put what information we have to share on our blog too (https://blog.lulu.com/2020/03/20/lulu-press-covid-19-updates/). Any new information we have to share will be listed there as the primary source.
We avoided sending those annoying emails we're all getting from every business we've ever shopped with since it's annoying and doesn't really help anyone. Likewise on the site. We have printers in the EU that are still printing and shipping orders, though there have been some impossible deliveries in Italy. Basically, we're trying to stay calm and not worry anyone unnecessarily with an excess of messaging. Those 'everything is under control' messages from other companies always come off as marketing speak and we didn't want to be vying for your inbox at a time like this.
If you did see the email that BlueAndGold shared, it's because you have an order in our system that we think may experience a delay.
Stay safe everyone

Paul, it's wrong to go on as if nothing is happening. It's important to acknowledge the elephant in the room. Ingram Spark sent messages to everyone and so did Videotron and Bell and highly reputable companies. Lulu needs to let its users know what is going on. It is not business as usual.
I ordered a book. I want to know if it will take a month or two or what. Information is a good thing. Send it now. It is not too late.

It's not good in Europe. Italy and Spain are in lockdown with at least the former needing you to carry official documents saying you have no choice but to be out and about, to pass through many army checkpoints. Many of the other countries are getting similar. It's not that 'martial' yet in the UK, but all nonessential places have been told to shut, and no doubt that included most printers. We still get postal deliveries though. About all that are still open are the huge supermarkets with reduced hours and staff, but they are rationing, putting their checkouts behind Perspex, and have 6 foot marks on the floors, and pay by swipecard only. On line deliveries of food that used to be 'next day' can now be a week. Basically people have been told to stay at home, and if who they work for won't pay them, or they are self employed, the gov will give them money to survive on. Same with small business that had to shut, the gov will give them some dosh, but I bet many will go out of business any way. Few small shops can afford to be shut for up to 12 weeks.

Yes Kevin, it's a police state in Spain where my daughter lives. Everything non-essential has been closed down and she told me the complicated procedure of just going food shopping. Printers are closed so no lulu books can be printed. Correos the Spanish postal operators has implemented special measures in order to reduce the risk of the spread of coronavirus. However Kerryn is very happy that she is one of the privileged as she has dogs. Dog walkers are allowed to walk their dogs. (Without a dog you cannot jog or do any kind of outdoor excercise as we can here) Just to get a walk people are hiring a dog from their neighbours!. If you are caught by the police on an illegal outing you can be fined a huge anount, My daughter's school has been closed and she has been informed that it might be closed until the end of the school year. Fortunately Kerryn's flat is in a quiet area of Spain with no cases of coronavirus. If Brits don't follow what Boris has decreed, we too will become a police state. I'm not the biggest fan of Prince Charles but I hope he recovers from the corona virus.
I do agree that Lulu must know about their printers in each country and whether they are printing lulu books or not. Then someone in the office should inform customers and not leave them wondering when or if their book will arrive.
Anyway stay safe everyone.

Ok, so, Canada Post is no longer delivering to 60 countries around the world. Pretty soon they may stop shipping to anywhere outside Canada and then any other province. This is why it is important for businesses to keep their clients up to date.
