I have always paid Lulu with my Amex card. Starting from the beginning of September 2023, I noticed that when it comes to paying, the site takes a long time to let me enter my code. Today (Monday 2023-09-18), I reached the credit card step at 18:35. At 18:45, I still couldn't enter my code. So I returned to the beginning of the order and did everything again. This time, everything was instantaneous. So irritating.

I purchased a draft copy of my new book a couple of days ago and the online payment process was as fast as ever.
I would though complain that it won't be delivered for up to three weeks, whereas past orders only took a few days,

Paying for things on line can at times be puzzlingly erratic. I tried to pay for something on a major site a few days ago using a credit card (no option for debit!) and it insisted many times my details were incorrect. I rang Mastercard and remarkably they said, no you have entered them correctly. How they knew that for a transaction that would not go through I have no idea, but it was not a problem with the card either. So I gave up. The following day I tried again, and it worked. Bizarre.
