A couple of weeks ago, Lauren from Lulu asked me to speak about my experience with them. They published my testimony on Trustpilot: fr.trustpilot.com/review/www.lulu.com It seems to have been erased ... perhaps because it was too laudative.

Ah. Funny! They should not be able to erase negative views, unless they are wrong.

Ah. Funny! They should not be able to erase negative views, unless they are wrong. It was not negative, but strongly positive.

Here is the text I sent Lulu, and that was briefly published by Trustpilot:
MY EXPERIENCE WITH LULU Wednesday, November 15, 2023
I used to write articles in scholars' journals of linguistics. In 2010, I wanted to publish a book on numbers and units in Old Tagalog (Philippines), but it was rejected by typical publishers because my potential readership was too limited to make its publication a profitable venture.
Fortunately, POD was now rising on the horizon. Once informed of its emergence, I tried it with a Flemish firm in Belgium. The result was not satisfactory because the book was so stiff that I'd have needed two cobblestones to keep it open. Also the Belgian firm did not supply any ISBN nor dit it have any connection with distributors. I was quite disappointed.
Fortunately I discovered Lulu in 2011. To test its production, I ordered an illustrated book of about a hundred pages by an unknown author. The result was stunningly good in terms of printing, paper and binding. So, I quickly had my first book manufactured by this firm. I was greatly satisfied and impressed by the result. It took me some time, however, to master how to design the cover, and be able to make it an attractive one. A couple of months after it was launched, I was informed a couple of copies had been bought, and I received the first royalties of my life, which considerably elated me, and made me confident enough to try other books.
From then on, I have been able to publish a score of books in two languages - English and French. About a dozen of them are public titles - didactic books and entertainment books. I thought the former would never sell, and that the latter would balance the failure by selling well. Actually the very opposite has happened. My didactic books have been selling on a regular basis (some are mentioned in academic publications), while my entertainment ones have drawn very little attention so far.
In brief, the highly professional quality of Lulu books has greatly contributed to my success as a scholar, so that the least I could be is deeply grateful to the founder of Lulu and his team.

Very glad to hear you had such a positive experience with Lulu. I have been buying books from them since 2013 and have never been disappointed. So, I started producing my own book now too and have been enjoying it. The only reason why I could see Trustpilot not posting your review is perhaps it doesn't reference a particular transaction/order? But, that's just speculation on my part. I'd ask them and find out what you could do to edit the review to something more to their liking. legal.trustpilot.com/contactI've also bought a few books from their bookshop from unknown authors/creators and have had no complaints. I've also started leaving reviews for the books (not mine) I've bought to help encourage those creators.

Simply put, if Lulu Press asked you for a review, then TrustPilot would have no way to verify the accuracy without contacting you, which would be at odds with users being the actual person posting the review. If X posts Y's review, there's too much chance for the review to be altered. They also don't want reviews to be biased [either way].

I cannot see why, but you never know. Maybe it's gone in to Under Review? " If someone flags your review for breaking our rules, we may temporarily hide it and ask you to make some changes. We’ll give you the opportunity to bring genuine reviews within our guidelines so they can stay on Trustpilot."
