A new Lulu Website is coming in seven days, so it says on Facebook.
Has anybody any idea what it will improve?
I hope the authors' spotlight will give more options
My sons says the whole website design for Lulu looks like it is from around 2012, which for him is virtually in the Neolithic period!

I know nothing. However, I did get the following e-mail from Lulu a few days ago:
Dear Lulu User,
On April 25th, we will begin introducing major updates to our site. As part of this update, we’re improving the way we size cover files. With this update, you’ll use the same size cover for any product type. That means you can now create a premium, full-color version and a standard black & white version using the same cover. No resizing required! We call this a uniform Page Per Inch (or PPI) cover.
This change allows you more flexibility in creating multiple versions of your book and simplifies cover sizing. It also allows us to introduce better paper options without increasing costs!
No action is required at this time. The Lulu team will resize your cover to fit our new specifications. We do ask that, once our site updates roll out, that you carefully review your cover.
Stay safe out there and thank you for choosing Lulu! ❤️

I tried to enter the new site yesterday, and today. Impossible! The new site doesn't recognize me!

I tried to enter the new site yesterday, and today. Impossible! The new site doesn't recognize me! Hello Potet, you are not alone. While clicking on the "Contact Support" button of Lulu, you will get this message for iinstance:
Due to the high volume of support inquiries, our support staff is unavavailable to take your calls and chats. We know you may be having issues logging in, you may not be able to see all your projects, or your order history may be incomplete. Our team is working to resolve all the issues reported to us.
Of course it's not funny. But since Lulu can only make money by migrating all the books properly and we authors can log in again, I'm confident that all this will come right.

This is the third website version. Two before it.

Right now it's a complete mess. Half my stuff missing. All my published books now in pending status and if I click the book link it acts like a new book creation. So many other broken links and discounts gone. I can only wait till it all rights itself as data is reestablished. Hopefully it won't be too long.

markcbrown: Yes, same issues here. All my books show as "pending distribution review". Perhaps it is a blessing for our European friends that they currently can't log in. It isn't pretty. BUT: I would rather it took a little extra time to migrate it all correctly than for it to be done quickly but wrongly. We must be patient. (Not that there is any other choice.)

About the projects showing pending - I would caution everyone to hold tight on making any changes or buying a new proof copy of anything to re-approve. The sheer volume of data we've migrated over the last 5 days is enormous. We expected some issues with data not being 100% day one, but the problem users were having even logging in took us by surprise and stole priority. With that issue behind us, we're back to updating data.
I'd also like to point out that the editing/revision process is a lot more fluid than it used to be. When you click into a book you've created, it's going to give you the ability to move around and make updates as needed. This is a lot different than our old, linear creation/revision process.

The good news are: Login works now after a password reset.
But:
"Due to the high volume of support inquiries, our support staff is unavavailable to take your calls and chats.
To log in your account, please visit lulu.com and click on Sign In. Request a password reset and follow the instructions. You may not be able to see all your projects, or your order history may be incomplete.
Our team is working to resolve all the issues reported to us."

Yes! Now that one of my books has actually showed it's face in my projects, I did play around a little with the new editing/revision process. Paul is right - it is much, much easier to navigate around and is surprisingly intuitive. That is a great change! I also want to point out that the new cover preview is a HUGE improvement! It is big enough to actually see, and the margins, bleed areas, trim lines, etc. can be toggled on and off as you please. Beautiful! In the past, when examining the tiny little preview image I would use a magnifier on my monitor and count pixels trying to line things up. I spent a lot of time and money on wasted proofs and cover revisions due to that limitation. This is much, much better! It will be nice when/if the rest of our projects and data are populated so we can wring this thing out.

It used to be possible to view the history of your sales, and create sales reports for any range of dates. It looks like that feature is no longer available. Has the history of our sales been lost?

It appears different users have different data populated so far. I can see only one of my books but I can see my past orders. I do not see any sales yet. It appears things are being added back but at a snail's pace.

Changed password and was able to log in, but tried again just now and usual response, password not recognised. This is becoming irritating. I'm not prepared to change my password every time I want to acess Lulu.
