With silence dark suspicion feeds The mistrust of the ones who need Some reassurance from the folks Who know the facts beneath their cloaks.
With truth and light comes understanding. Patience grows and proper planning. But where secrets seep and pester Anger burns and rumors fester.
Some say bells with doom are chiming. Please tell us the facts and timing! Silence thickens deep and fast.
The time for saving face is past.

Transparency. A log of what is done each day would save them. Everything public.

Ah! THAT's the word I was searching for: TRANSPARENCY!
You could have saved me 12 lines, Maggie!
That is what we've come to. This is Day 18 of "a few hours'" project. It's time for some explanations in black and white.

Transparency, it is an ideal.
As for explanations, who knows.

Your poem is beautiful. I'm glad you wrote all 12 lines.

Here it is 9:20Pm Tues and still no changes. I did notice that ISBN's had "finally" been added to my two books. But I still can't finish the revision. Still can't download anything, cover still corrupt, one book missing completely from Amazon, and of course still no revenue. Worse as mentioned above no transparency. Lulu is giving the same update time after time. Usually over a three day period. Again as you mentioned at a worse possible time. I'm sure as Lulu would know this, they could have at least emailed each customer and apologized and gave some bit of consolation. But nothing. Everyone's gone and it seems they don't even care. One can only imagine if Amazon or some other company was ran this way. If my pay is not correct I'm seriously considering leaving too. I've had enough. Paul I hope you see this, and tell the owners enough is enough.

The bottom line is it feels disrespectful. People feel disrespected. Irrelevant. Outside the loop. It's not too late to fix it. Share all your knowledge and feelings and work and be real. Use real language to say we're really really sorry.

I'm glad you liked it Maggie. Thank you. But it was written for the eyes of Lulu. Time is running out. This weekend I was preaching Patience, but it would be nice to have some explanation and information to give hope. Now, at day 18 (eighteen!) there has been NO change to anything in my account/projects since two Fridays ago when one of my projects finally got a cover thumbnail image. Interestingly, in the Lulu store, that project's cover is an unintelligible scramble of pixels even though the thumbnail in my projects looks right. All of the projects still show as "pending distribution review" even though they have been long in distribution.
The good news is that all of the projects DO appear in the Lulu store, Amazon, Barnes&Noble, etc. So it appears Lulu is making the effort to keep the revenue stream flowing.
Ah well... I'm reminded of the cartoon showing the vultures on a branch. One says to the other, "Patience my butt! I'm gonna kill something!"
By the way, the idea that vultures only eat carrion is a fable. I have witnessed a family of turkey vultures taking turns pecking a prairie dog to death. They obviously ran out of patience.

Wow, yes, birds can be dangerous. Remember the story we read in high school?
