Been checking my revenue all night. Stayed up until 8:11am June 6th. Still no revenue change. Countless clicking on the refresh page button did nothing but make the screen flash before my eyes. But the numbers never change. Another promise Lulu another let down. If I'm paid I want representation. You do pay your employees I'm sure without telling how many hours they worked now do you?

Go get some sleep, Winter. I doubt Lulu has worked a weekend since April 25th and I doubt they'll work at all much longer. Very sad.

Whichever IT company is doing the work behind the scenes likely isn't working weekends because the per hour charges would be horrendous even for one person.
Twenty-odd years ago the company I worked for charged $250/hr* for the use of an Associate Programmer on a conversion project [one platform to another], while the rate for more seasoned programmers was $500/hr and up depending on experience.
* It should be noted the programmers didn't get more than a small fraction of that hourly fee.

I wonder who Lulu actually hired to do the job?
Or is it possible it was done by their own ICT team and they didn't have the required skills set to avoid an almighty balls-up?

Reiholdbehringer found and posted this link a few weeks ago. I think we know who NOT to hire: mirumee.com/projects/lulu/Scolling down you can see exactly what we see on the Lulu create page.
If you go to the mirumee main page:
...and scroll down you can see they use Lulu as an example of their work. They state in bold print: DISRUPTING THE SELF-PUBLISHING INDUSTRY.
Yeah, they disrupted it all right...
I wonder how many of the other companies they "helped" are now defunct?

In March I was encouraging another self-publisher I know to move their projects to Lulu because they were unhappy with Amazon. This morning I suggested they not even consider it at this time.

I have been very happy with Lulu's service for the past 5 years that I have had projects with them. They have been truly a full service, one-stop shop. They provided a forum for some of us to interact (kaput) and they have also run very entertaining and enlightening flash fiction contests which were a joy for the participants and a boon for a worthy cause. I greatly enjoyed the relationship.
But now they smile, standing at the open front door while their golden goose lays bleeding on the back porch. Every day we bleed a little too.
And still, total denial.

They may have meant Lulu Press was disrupting the self-publishing business, which at one point in time was true.
I would also tend to agree that Lulu Press' business model has been disrupted.

And still, total denial. I've been at Lulu almost six years. Loved every minute of it. Met some great people. Loved the forum which you can now see why they removed it. Can you image it right now? Like you said it was always a warm friendly place. Now the site is cold, empty. Much like the difference in getting a cold drink from a machine and ordering from a counter in small restaurant. I don't understand why they keep posting updates that aren't true and making promises they never keep. First they said it would be two days, then just give us two more. Then a week. Now it is just hurry up and wait. Not sure if anyone will ever trust them again. The Facebook page is full of that same feeling. The worst thing is Lulu's new stand on Human Decency and what books they will not allow or we allow to be taken down if someone is offended. That is quite a topic at FB right now. So who made Lulu God? How do they get to decide what is Human Decency? Not a happy topic on FB right now. Lulu just keeps digging the whole deeper. They should have just apologized, fix the site and kept their mouths shut about anything besides publishing. People would have been happy.

Just to add, I'd think the cost of paying some extra IT's to get this done would be cheaper in the long run than losing all of their customers and ruining their reputation. Imagine if Amazon had done that..
