Why doesn't lulu just go back to their old program? I see no reason why it would not be possible. THEN slowly work in the new stuff, making sure it works in each step. I can no longer publish anything so am pretty much screwed!!

I seriously believe that Lulu wish to make it harder for people, so that they have to pay Lulu to do it for them. But I don't believe that Lulu actually employ software or site engineers. Even in the old setup, when a bug was reported, they took ages to fix it, or never fixed it at all. When they did manage to update the site in some small manner, they don't seem to have heard of a Sandbox, they seem to work on the software everyone is trying to use, often replacing one bug with 10 new ones. From what I have seen, the new set up is from another site Lulu bought, adjusted slightly to allow ISBNs. But making it work seems to be beyond them.

At first I almost gave up on them, mainly because they kept rejecting my all-in-one cover. However with advice from members here I was able to make the cover and have published the book. I have just received the proof copy and am happy with it. I now wait to see if Lulu will put it in my storefront.

Do you publish e-books? There is an overvoew here in the forum: lulu.boards.net/thread/436/overview-book-publisherBut you have to consider other things as well: price, ISBN, distribution, etc. Often it is like larika has already said: With one you can make simple covers, another has the better distribution network, the third offers a bigger profit, the fourth is only available in certain countries, the fifth offers the format you want (for printed books). It is not as simple as And Kevin 2024 suggests.

As soon as people started using the new platform to create/revise their books, reverting to the old platform would essentially be a brand-new migration. And, as we know, Lulu are world-class with migrations!
