I just published my book, got to the Review section which I completed, but still the REVIEW area is in a gray area and not available for me to complete. It's been over 20 minutes. Why is this taking so long? I know I've done everything right. With the old version of Lulu, I'd have been finished by now and sharing my book and buying it. I'm STILL waiting. What is the problem?

The new system is a disaster.

poetrystarz - 20 minutes is nothing. Ensure that you have uploaded files that exactly fit into the requirements. The system will give you yellow-coloured 'error' messages if something is not as it should. If you have no such messages, and you have completed all steps (check that you have completed everything, depending on publishing choice at the start), and you still have a review button that will not 'click', you need to contact technical support - they will send you an automated email with some blurb that we have learnt to ignore - and IMMEDIATELY reply to that email with the exact problem - if you can, take a screenshot and attach that jpg to the email. Most 'inoperative' buttons are down to 2 things: a hickups in the system, and your project 'hangs', or you have not completed a detail in the preceding steps. Good luck. (As I've stated in other posts - POD is not quite there yet, and still requires much patience - Lulu or any other POD company).

The updated Lulu require a great deal of patience. This ia how patience is defined on the internet. "patience n. the quality of being able calmly to endure suffering, toil, delay, vexation or the like; sufferance.patient sustaining pain, delay etc. without repining: not easily provoked,: persevering in long-continued or minute work: expecting with calmness."
I'm afraid we've all suffered with this annoying, frustrating. exasperating, infuriating, maddening Lulu update. I am an extremely patient person, but making my last book with the updated Lulu, really tried my patience to its maximum. I was at the point of giving up, but with bizzley's (one of our members) help I finally succeeded and my file and cover were accepted by Lulu.

There is a breaking point - many months ago, while in dialogue with Lulu about a photo book issue (forgot what), I was informed that there would soon be a much better and more exciting photo book wizard available. I think that was about 18 months ago - after waiting, my photobooks were simply tossed out - that's when my patience ended - I keep some private / direct-link books on Lulu for convenience, but everything else is now on Mybestseller. I'm no martyr - having said that - the book creating 'app' or 'wizard' whatever it is called, is now quite functional and robust - but it has very tight parameters, if only one of them does not fit the chosen distribution path (for example), it'll refuse to progress, or stall, the latter of which necessitates Lulu technical staff assistance. - So, while I no longer publish any new books with Lulu, and only keep a few stored on their servers, those authors who continue with Lulu need to re-learn everything, including (haha) exceeding levels of patience. I can always part with the detail step by step knowledge I gain while dabbling with a test book, and assist others to navigate their way through it when they hit a block. That's all. But they must realize that the new Lulu system is not yet 'finished and totally foolproof functional'.

Thank you larika - when other companies 'updated' their systems, they kept old customers' accounts/works/contributions (whatever it may have been) as a 'grandfathered' item - no longer supported or updatable, but available to the owner/contributor. They would eventually 'go away' by natural attrition. The Dutch guys who own/operate the various labels (Mybestseller, Bookmundo, Sweek, Monbeaulivre are all labels of mijnbestseller.nl) have been wonderful in assisting me with getting the books back up - Kudos to them.
