After almost five months now my two books finally made it to Barnes, Apple, and Scribd. Then suddenly disappeared. Then reappeared except for Barnes. Support says they are their but they aren't. They are resubmitting though. The paperback out since 4/11 still is nowhere to be found except Lulu. While I'm happy some things are getting fixed , this is really ridiculous. I'm getting ready to publish another hopefully this weekend, will it take till January to hit the stores? I was really hoping to get some sales at Christmas rush. But seems like things might not make it. Support was polite and did say that the distribution software has finally gotten fixed. We'll see. Seems they are still backed up with complaints. I still believe being patient and getting it right first would have saved them losing so many people. I looked on Facebook, I didn't see an update anywhere. Just the usually sunshine ads for people's books etc. I guess Lulu no longer comes here to comment, the blog is not updated, and there's no way to contact and reps like we did the old forum. I miss having that opportunity.

I have no idea if humans are involved in the process of getting books listed, but it seems that they must be, and because many employees of so many places have been told to stay at home, there's hardly any humans left to process stuff.
Shipping has also suffered from the pandemic, every section of it is either not running or running on a skeleton staff, so that's gone to a crawl also. And a knock on effect of that is all the postal and shipping companies have drastically raised their rates. So expect all shipping costs to rise, including our books.
Are the sales of ebooks automatic? I would expect so, but if humans are involved, that too will slow down.
And it's getting worse, not better.

That's happening Kevin. I've bought books from Lulu to send to the USA and Spain and the postal charge has been considerably larger than before the update and the pandemic. It also takes much longer for the recipients to receive the books.

I`ve recently checked on availability of my books. I`ve only got two on the go at the moment, both were available on Lulu and Amazon worldwide before the upgrade. Now both are available on Lulu, only one is available on Amazon USA, neither are available on Amazon UK. I might just retire the lot and go direct to KDP.

My two book ebooks published 4/11 are still not on Amazon. The paperback published the same day finally did make. Beating the two ebooks. I've contacted support and they said contact them the first of August if not listed yet. I did that and they said they'd send them again. Still not there. The monthly report on the site, still not fixed. About Author still not fixed. It's usable to publish but that's about it. Then who knows how long it's going to take to get the books listed. How much potential money we've lost because of this and no compensation.

Just to add , on some sites my books were missing or listed as out of stock. Support said that some streams they didn't have control over. I did notice on non U.S.A. Amazon sites they were carrying my paperbacks only, no ebooks.

Odd that POD books can be out of stock, but I think it's just default software treating all unavailable books that way. It always took a while for books to end up on Amazon, up to 7 weeks, and often a bit at a time, cover first or whatever. I have to assume that places like Amazon, their humans now actually view all new books for 'approval', especially Self-published books, even KDP ones. I would also assume that like most places Amazon are short staffed right now, so things take much longer, or never.
