I browsed through my Lulu book settings and on the section you set your price I noticed the majority of my world wide distribution paperbacks were minus revenue. The books sold on Lulu showed okay, but I never selll any of my books on there. They were marked as price too low. Over the years I have averaged my novels at £9-99 paperback and £3 for ebook. My latest sales were actually not to bad and no mention of any minus revenue books, but these were mainly ebooks. Anyone else notice this and can someone explain if this is another oversight?

"A Grammatical pandect of Written Tagalog", 6x9", 776p, paper 60g, softbound cost : 13.64€ I wanted to earn 10€ per copy, so I thought the selling price would be 23.64€ + tax Actually the program computed it as 52.28€, which means the distributor (e.g. Amazon) gets 28.64€ - tax, i.e. 15.00€ more than the manufacturer (Lulu). Amazing!

The distributors must love us! I make about $3 on a $39 book.

And many of them 'return for destruction' any unsold physical copies - not many of the 'old fashioned' distributors have fully embraced the POD system, and still want printed copies on shelves - and if they don't sell, they're returned for destruction (or what else?) ... one of my many gripes that made me reject ISBN ...

[b I take it personally. For this reason I hesitate to use Ingram Spark again except for hardcovers. That being said, they do not require you to order a proof so you save a lot on the long run.

If I understand this correctly, you use IngramSpark for hardcovers. Which provider do you recommend for others?

If I understand this correctly, you use IngramSpark for hardcovers. Which provider do you recommend for others? I used them for both last year. Lots of books. 5 returns in total. I didn't have to pay anything as they have a 90 day delay in paying you. I haven't published anything for over six months, so I have no one now. Tasmanian artist recommends mybestseller.co.uk. I will try them for one book, get to know the ins and outs. If they are superb I will let you know. If not I will keep using Ingram Spark, painful as the returns are.
