2021
Well 2020 now has gone, It's been a challenging year. But we have learned some lessons too. So let us all give cheer And welcome 2021 For soon it will appear That now our world is cleaner And emissions aren't severe.
So raise a glass of happiness To celebrate the year To all our family and friends For those we hold so dear A new year now has just begun So let us give a cheer And hope in 2021 It won't be so austere

Elizabeth Keimach - a contemporary poet whom I unfortunately only recently had the pleasure of meeting (virtually). Her poems, how shall I put it, take on heavy themes with a certain lightness, never losing sight of the future, the positive aspect, without negating the negative. That testifies to a lot of life experience and wisdom. Thank you for these (and earlier) lines, which remind us, even in times of "blood and tears" (W.Ch. - another British man of writing), what really matters in life.
