I’ve just conducted a sample of some of my book selling prices. On Lulu all are as originally set up. On Amazon all have been inflated and shown as out of stock. You, myself and others have reported similar problems I know instictively what the reason is....Lulu's almighty f-up of an upgrade

I made a free ebook with Draft2Digital and Amazon were the only company that insisted on charging for the book. (I decided not to go with them) Also all my free ebooks which were originally free on their site have been bumped up to $.99

Out of stock? Does it show for sale at all and with Lulu as publisher at the bottom left? Usually out of stock means its been taken down. Like when you retire a paperback at Lulu, on Amazon it will show as out of stock. They won't take it down in case someone has a used copy for sell later on. I still have seven books missing from various sites. That's just the ones that sell. I haven't really checked for the others. I don't think they all got together one day and said let's take his books down. There has to be a common theme here and that's Lulu Publishing. My latest book disappeared from everywhere. Never heard from Lulu or anyone. A month later I decided to go look and there it was listed on Lulu as local sale only. It had an error that the subtitle didn't not match the interior of the book. I copied and pasted it and re uploaded the interior and still would not work. Lulu finally got back to me and said it is correct. They are looking to see why the sites took it down. The glitch has to be on Lulu for that to happen.

I don’t believe that it’s a glitch. Nothing to do with Lulu as everything there is as it should be. This is a new policy implementation by Amazon, other channels are unaffected. There is also the BREXIT tax connotation.

Maybe - but it seems illogical. Why would amazon not sell a book directly and prefer to pass business over to other sellers? Just to remind people once again. Two weeks ago, the book could be bought directly from amazon. Now, it is only on offer from other sellers: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1716381797/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_hsch_vapi_taft_p1_i0

But they do make money from other sellers as they have to pay a commission to Amazon.

As I wrote earlier, your answer lies but a phone call away.
Let us know what they say after you've spoken to them.

Why it's $0.99 and why the larger it is the more they'll charge......
For something that's free think of it as a hosting or storage fee rather than a price.

I take your point @bizzley, but they hosted them free for years and only recently changed to $.99

Amazon has increased my hardback prices out of reach. I suspect they don't want to bother with making hardbacks.

Two things to think about.
First is the number of books listed as free on Amazon by the author for whatever reason. A free ebook still takes up server space and Amazon is a for-profit enterprise.
Second for residents of England is Brexit which has changed how an author's work is distributed.

Maybe that's why they don't appear to want to deal with them.
