Just read an undated excerpt from the "Börsenblatt des deutschen Buchhandels" (German Book Trade Journal): In the Corona crisis, Amazon is prioritising household goods, sanitary items and other products with high demand. In order to be able to restock and deliver to customers faster, the online retailer has suspended orders for other goods until the beginning of April. Bad news for publishers - but perhaps also an opportunity for the book shops? -end quote-
Even the excerpt is undated: That are old news from last year and concerning only real books from third-party sellers: Amazon has temporarily paused accepting shipments from third-party sellers to its warehouses for products including books owing to the coronavirus outbreak.

No such limitation in the UK. A book I ordered on Amazon on 5th March was delivered on 7th March.

Hopefully not here in the U.S. I really see no great demand of anything like before. The stores all have plenty of toilet paper, hand sanitizer , and food. The shelves here are full of everything. No one is panicking like before. But if that is true maybe that would explain the poor sales the last few months. I just ordered a jacket for dad Saturday, got here yesterday. Maybe old news hopefully but thanks for sharing.

From our experience no slow down in the US for over six months, books included. Around last June things like paper towels and toilet paper were sometimes delayed.
