Maggie,
You wouldn't believe the amount of bigoted judgemental crap the spouse and I had to put up with when we first got together, simply due to our age-difference. One of my coworkers [about a year younger than I am] back then had gotten married at age 16 and she got pretty vocal about 'old men robbing the cradle'.
What sets people off can get interesting.

Larika,
A while back I took my daughters to the local dollar store to get some schtuff they could play with [and per usual eventually tear up] for a price that wouldn't raise my hackles.
Just inside the door was a woman around my age who started remarking about how cute Their Graces were before remarking; "You're such a good Grandpa to be bringing them here."
I replied: "While I am a grandfather, they're my daughters."
Then the woman wanted to know if my 'daughter' was at work. After a couple more interchanges I finally had to break it down in simple terms: "These are my children, as in the two of them are my female offspring -- I am their father."
Then the woman got upset because per her paradigm, I was too old to be the father of young children, and in her opinion there must have been something nefarious going on.
Sometimes the simplest things can cause people to get argumentative, especially when those apparently simple things contradict what some people see as basic reality and 'the way things are and should always be'.
With any luck I get to get out and work with the chainsaw tomorrow, it's nice to do something I'm really good at. A while back I took my daughters to the local dollar store to get some schtuff they could play with [and per usual eventually tear up] for a price that wouldn't raise my hackles.

Sphinx-Cameron there's a case of very rude women.. What business is it of thers to whom or when you choose to marry. I think you showed alot of patience with them. I think some may have acted very differently with these interfering women. I bet they are both closeminded!!.

Sounds like a beautiful love story to me. Makes you more interesting. And, I'm jealous.

Larika,
Too often there are people who justify rudeness as 'protecting the innocent'. One example is the person who calls law enforcement about suspected child trafficking, simply because the person thinks it's easier to see a familial relationship than it is, especially with adoptions. Then there are those souls who feel the need to 'protect the community morals', who if left to their own devices could potentially face felony charges, i.e.: the woman who thinks she could kill an older man for having a relationship with her much younger daughter [who had attained the age of consent before the relationship began], since 'she was protecting her daughter and her daughter's morals'.
Maggie,
The spouse and I connected on a literary site years ago. She and I have weathered many storms together, and for some unfathomable reason she still puts up with me.

Everybody's dream. Yes, while still in high school my spouse wrote a bit, and it was evocative.
As for dreams, many would have considered her a nerd while I consider a different set of criteria. I saw then and still see a fascinating mind...
