Lady Elizabeth,
Hopefully you've finished "Mono-Earth: The War of the Egg" and moved on to Ron's work.

It's a thoughtful book with a message for humanity. Well done

I tried, and thank you.
With luck the next one will have a wider audience.

Your book has plenty of action and romance and will appeal just at that level for some, but I particularly like books that have a strong message of the way things should be.

At times tis far easier to get a point across if it's done in an entertaining manner.

Personally, I am not keen on fiction that tries to put across a message, but maybe on a subliminal level I also do so myself. Oh, and I never bother with romance, even though it's a top seller.

I am reminded of what Sam Goldwyn said when asked if his movies had a message: "If I wanted to send a message I'd call Western Union."

At times tis far easier to get a point across if it's done in an entertaining manner. Too many authors---from Ayn Rand to Robert Heinlein---wind up lecturing their readers, apparently from a complete disbelief that anyone would be able to get the point they are trying to make. I have seen self-published book after self-published book on a mission: rants about everything from conspiracy theories to UFOs thinly and totally inadequately disguised as fiction.

I have seen self-published book after self-published book on a mission: rants about everything from conspiracy theories to UFOs thinly and totally inadequately disguised as fiction. Rants don't tend to work very well, though if I do have a mission of sorts it's to get people to not define what they consider human and worthy of fair treatment quite so narrowly.
I remember a history course I took in college, a class I was the proctor for when the professor was out of town. It was a lot easier getting people to focus on discussing the subject matter by injecting some humor, since the normal professor usually put people to sleep. www.youtube.com/watch?v=yUjhSBjxuXA
