I wondered if anybody else has had this problem. Since the site overhaul, when I try to create a new book project, and want to enter one of my own ISBNs to assign to a new project, I get an error message saying "Imprint already exists" and it will not let me use my own imprint name which I registered when I bought my block of ten ISBNs from the UK ISBN Agency. The imprint does of course exist, it's my own! And yet Lulu are not allowing me to use the imprint name for any new project.
Can anyone help? I have raised a ticket with Lulu for this, but several days later, no response.

I'm surprised anyone is even attempting to create a new project while the old ones still don't work.

An interesting observation. In the case of French-African ISBN, it's the other way around: they have been misrepresented so far and were correct for the first time at least two days ago.
Welcome Richard to this forum! It was created in 2004 by Lulu for its authors and became independent five month ago. Fell free to register and stay with us.

BlueandGold: Good point My creation of a new book project is just a test, to see if the new book creation pages work (which they don't). So this is just a dummy run, but the ISBN/imprint name issue does seem odd. I am waiting for a reply to my support ticket, and of course waiting to see when and if all the problems with the website overhaul are ironed out. Benzinger: I am glad your ISBNs are showing correctly now.

Some of my books still don't have info in them. For example the ISBN's are missing, copyright info, etc. I can't revise them or delete the drafts. I really liked Lulu and don't want to move away to another company but this is FUBAR.

Or, they will likely write to you informing you there's a problem.

Thank you, Maggie. I did notice if I remove one word from the imprint name then it accepts it. Maybe the same result if I write it all in CAPS. Just don't want a problem further on when I try to get the book into Global Distribution.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear! I wish they'd just left lulu alone. Now we are all having problems and I wonder if they can ever get it right for us Old luluers.

Did anyone notice that the format of the ISBN image has changed? It is now much more simple, whereas the previous version before the "update" did result in a more elaborate format, as it is customary for printed books. I had a look at one of my previously published books at Lulu, and I could get the newly formatted ISBN. The format is SVG, which I only can view in my web browser. For comparison I am attaching both versions (same book, same ISBN). Top one is the old ISBN, lower one is the new ISBN. Attachments:

Did anyone notice that the format of the ISBN image has changed? Had not noticed but the new one appears like a standard barcode. Yes, the new version is much more plain. Might be OK and does what it is supposed to do, but the older version looks much more professional. The ISBN number of most books are like the old version. There is probably a standard of how an ISBN should look like.
