Correct Maggie the big sellers remain and smaller 1s are taken offline. I remember in 2013 a big fuss over adult ebook content and many sites deleted many authors' ebooks as happened to me in 17. Like closing the door after the horse ran off. I had books on itunes with Pussy in the title for say 5 years and then i was told to rename it that word as it is rude and breaks rules but after 5 years there... i had no choice to rename it. Under my normal name not pen name deleted. I use rival site amazon they hate 1 another. I had to remove references to amazon site in a book listed on itunes (ibooks) as it has amazon store ebook links in. I got round it somehow but i forget there... all part of the writing journey as you will know. I find it creepy, such language control. Hi Maggie well you seem to have your head screwed on. It gets worse and becomes satire. This is like a surreal thing but real and i gotta deal with it and have done and sent it to lulu for checking. This is the same book i mention above. Now its GOOGLE who are acting up. I put the same story in a collection/anthology on lulu to match my amazon kindle editions. Now i get this email. Pls give me your views on it. Dear user, Please note that we received the notice below. Regards, Questionable Content Team Lulu Press, Inc. From: Books-partner google Subject: Notice of Book Removal from Google Play Books Hello, We have discovered that one or more books in your Google Play catalog have covers and/or metadata that violate our content policies. We have temporarily removed the following books from sale: ISBN:9781716684944 - Pounder Cocktail – Sizzling Erotic Stories Reason for removal: We do not allow images of sexually suggestive or explicit nudity on the covers of books except in limited non-erotic contexts. We also don't allow sexually explicit terms or excerpts in the titles or descriptions of books. If you have alternative cover images available for these books, please upload them. Additionally, if you're able to replace the explicit title or description from your books' listings, please do so. Once the cover images and metadata are compliant with our content policies, you may re-enable the books for sale. Please review your book catalog and remove any other books that do not comply with our content policies. Failure to comply with these policies may result in suspension or removal from the program. We appreciate your cooperation. Sincerely, Google Play Books Adult Content Policy Team --------- This book had different names. From my blurb--- This volume featured some of Nick Armbrister's adult/erotic stories. There is Pound Cocktail now renamed Pounder Cocktail for this volume. It was called Pussy Pounder from 2012-17 and sold well on Apple store till new rules meant a name change. It features varied people having sex! Now Maggie this is important but so stupid. Am i allowed to include erotic in a book title or book description? Apparently not. What do you think? Have others had this issue? Yes i think. This is like facebook thought cops and deletion of my 2 accounts including my author one with 5k contacts there and the threat to my current accounts there and blocks etc. I use other rival sites now for my book work like mewe.com and my wix site and google blog. There is a ramping up of 'thought cop control' action. It goes from sites like tumblr stopping erotic/porn photos on there. They use mewe now. I had a book blog there and my tattoo pix. I was stopped from posting erotic stories and also a tattoo i had as the pic showed my nipple. I deleted my acc and moved on.

Indeed this becomes a parody of most surreal proportions and i want to write a story on it all just the who thing. Pls see my other detailed reply on this thing now in recent continuation.

While I was there I looked at your books under both names.
I realize some things work differently in Manchester [England] than say, LA or NYC, but some things work the same. One instance is in the US and the UK a private company can refuse service.
Different platforms have taken action over different types of books for different reasons, and it's the individual companies' businesses to run.
Part of the writing journey is adapting to changing times and circumstances because the world isn't going to stand still and / or conform to our individual expectations. -------------
I think there will be hundreds of thousands of such genre authors there and the hard thing for them all is getting sales as they will among them be very talented writers who can write, they have good book blurb, great cover art etc but the competition is massive. Like 1 person wants to buy a book and chooses from 10 authors. ( do not get a sale and 1 does get a sale. Not necessarily erotic books it could be war or a spy book. And yes we must adapt or we go under. Not just in writing but in life or work or whatever.

You're a writer; think smart. You can use extremely erotic, sexually suggestive words without using the word erotica or sex. Just make sure that you use heavily searched terms so people can find your books. Example: ... I started writing them then realized how inappropriate they would be in this forum. So, search on Google a bit. "Playing with my neighbour" with two adults holding a quill or even a tie, for example, would get you a lot of sales. No nipples.

Something to think about, the SP world like the Traditional venue has a lot of talented writers as well as mediocre writers, and far too many who think writing is easy money. The difference between being in the SP versus the TP worlds is unless the writer is well-known due to previously Traditionally Published work, all a potential reader has to go on is a blurb and whatever sample is offered in a sneak peek.

I used the technique on a book before and the cover is a couple holding apples. The book had a bikini clad lady before but it was not allowed as it was deemed too rude. So smiling couple with apples. Yes what is NOT said there. Not a cliché in sight.

There is a way to invoke smut without actually showing or saying it.

Some Americans are Puritanical, others aren't. The same holds true for other countries.

Some Americans are Puritanical, others aren't. The same holds true for other countries. True. But there are many still with old school values. Same holds true for Crete. In fact, they are 200 years behind Canada in their thinking, which is a good thing.
