Can anyone tell me how to insert a picture in private messages. I tried paste but it wouldn't work and couldn't find "insert image from file". It works in Comments and I can insert images there, but not in messages. Thanks for any help.

The Insert Picture button pulls an image from the web.
In a regular post or Reply there is an option to add an attachment, but not an option to add an attachment in Quick Reply or Message mode that I found.

Yes, but I saw Admin inserted a picture within the body of the post. So it's possible, I believe.

It is possible to insert a picture in a regular post,by using the Add Attachment button in the upper right hand corner, or by using Insert Image button which pulls from a web address.
Private messages on the other hand offer the Insert Image button which pulls from web address but does not offer the Add Attachment button.
Admin accounts often have settings allowing them to do more. I have Admin privileges on both Linux partitions on my computer, while both my dotters have regular user accounts that are locked down.

I did that, but mine came up as an attachment. I wanted it in the body.

Okay, adding image after this. Add Attachment, select image, open, insert, done.
After you add the image then hit enter and type away.

Admin may be able to add that functionality, but as end-users if it isn't there we can't add it.

This was from my files so I can do this but not in messages. To do it in a private message it will need to be on the web.

Thanks Sphinx-Cameron so it's not like we did in the old forum? However what do you mean by on the web. Do you mean send an email using the internet or is there some way we can do it from here via the web.

On the web refers to on the World Wide Web, a.k.a. the Internet. If there is a picture you want to share which is online with an http:// address that you can insert using the Insert Image Button, you can insert an image that way.

Cool! "Add attachment" works perfectly! I was able to upload this image from my files instead of having to pull something from the web.

This is much simpler to understand than an Oracle database with a 'Magic' software based front-end designed by Japanese programmers -- that was a pain.

Sphinx-Cameron I have some pictures on line and each has a web address, so I tried sending one to a ricipient through the message board. The picture showed up my end but the ricipient never got it. I wondered what I'd done wrong. Have yoy tried it?
